what should i do with my birds a firewrok night?

i have a shed full of birds canary’s,cocktails.lovebirds and finches but i am not sure if the fireworks will scare my birds and maybe kill them anyone got any ideas i have got cages to put them in if i do fetch them inside please help

Bird keepers everywhere have the same problem each year with the coming of Bonfire night.

I too keep birds in a shed and I’ve over come this by putting a blackout board over the windows just after dusk, about 4pm. I have lights on a timer switch so I leave these on for an extra hours so the birds can settle down and roost for then night.

These boards block out the suddon flashes of lights fireworks give off and the birds don’t see them. I think the noise of them don’t really bother them much. It’s mainly the lights that frighten them.

First thing next morning, I remove the covers and let the birds get back to normality. By doing this, I’ve never lost any birds.
