Aquarium Snails
do zebra snails ect take up room in a aquarium like fish do?
do aquarium snails ( the wanted kind ) take up space like a fish does or add to the amount of ammonia in a noticeable amount? i kind of want some to eat the Algae in inaccessible areas of the tank.
sorry, only about 1 if thats possible 
and my tank isent huge – only 2 by 1 foot
well, to be honest i proberly shouldent i already have like 10 small – med fish in there so maybe not.
Well, your tank doesn’t sound to be overstocked so I guess you must have an algae problem, are you keeping the aquarium in direct sunlight? Is the heater at the correct temperature?
As a precaution, just like the answers above I would suggest just trying a pair (same sex if possible) in your tank and see how they affect your bio-load, In previous tanks I have kept snails have barely effected the water at all apart from the cost of new food!
Also, (again as suggested above) try a live plant or two in the tank which as well as the benefits it will give to tank cleanliness it will give your fishies a nice little hiding (and breeding 
) space!
